Leicht sein

Färben Wälder sich bunt
und die Seele wird wund,
lass uns leicht sein,
federleicht sein.
Pressen Jahre das Laub,
das gefallne, zu Staub,
lass uns leicht sein,
federleicht sein.

Ob der Teufel uns holt,
weil die Sonne verkohlt,
lass uns leicht sein,
einfach leicht sein.
Sei's verdampft oder sei's
konserviert unter Eis:
Lass in bleierner Zeit
von aller Schwere befreit
la-la-la, la-la-la- leicht sein.

Wenn die Masse der Welt
uns am Erdboden hält,
lass uns leicht sein,
trotzdem leicht sein.
Hemmt das Abheben schlicht
unser Körpergewicht,
lass uns leicht sein,
trotzdem leicht sein.

Um die Füße Morast,
auf den Schultern Ballast,
lass uns leicht sein,
ganz leicht sein.
Dem Griff der Gravitation,
dem entkommen wir schon;
darum lass uns zwei,
so als sei's einerlei,
la-lei-la, la-lei-la- leicht sein.

Das Leicht Sein war nie einfach
und es wird nie einfach sein,
doch vielleicht kann man zu zwei'n
ja einfach sein.

Ziehn die Sorgen bei Nacht
dich in schlaflosen Schacht,
lass uns leicht sein.
einfach leicht sein.
Wenn Gegrübel bemüht
schon in der Früh das Geblüt,
lass uns leicht sein.
einfach leicht sein.

Wenn dich Zweifel beschleicht,
ja, dann lädt dich vielleicht
ein Vergleich ein
zum Leichtsein:
So ein Leichtfuß allein
braucht ein weiteres Bein,
drum lass uns zu zweit,
und zu allem bereit,
la-la-la, la-la-la- leicht sein.

Being light and easy

When forests change colours
and the soul becomes sore,

light as a feather.
When the years press
the fallen leaves to dust,

Whether the devil take us,
because the sun is charred,

Be it vaporised or be it
preserved under ice:
Let's, in leaden time
freed from all heaviness,
be la la la la la la light.

When the mass of the world
holds us on the ground,
let's be easy
still be easy.
If the lift-off is simply
inhibited by our body weight,
let's be easy,
still be easy.

With the mire around the feet
and the ballast on our shoulders,
let's be light,

The grip of gravity,
we'll escape it;
So let the two of us,
as if it were all the same,
be la la la la la la light.

Being light has never been simple,
and simple, it will never be,
but maybe the two of us
can simply be.

When at night, the worries
drag you down a sleepless shaft,
let's be easy,
just be easy.
If in the morning, your blood
is already troubled by brooding,
let's be light
just be light.

When suspicion creeps over you,
maybe a comparison
invites you
to being light:
Such a light foot alone
is reliant on another leg!
So let the two of us
be ready for anything
and be la la la la la la light.
